UV Parasols and Umbrellas with UPF 50+ Sun Protection
UV Parasols & Umbrellas
Sun Parasols with UPF 50+ Fabric: 99% of UV Rays Blocked
The Short Version: Why Choose a UV-Blocker Parasol
- UPF 50+ Solarteck® fabric stops 100% of UVB and 99.97% of UVA
- Up to 8°C cooler in the shade than in direct sun
- Recommended by the Melanoma International Foundation and trusted by dermatologists
- Founded by a melanoma survivor, Ron Walker, who knows what real protection means
- 8 styles for golf, the beach, travelling and everyday shade
An ordinary umbrella keeps off rain, not UV. Dark fabric without a UPF rating still lets a significant amount of ultraviolet radiation through, and light colours let in even more. UV-Blocker parasols use our proprietary Solarteck® fabric, tested to UPF 50+, which blocks 99.97% of UVA and 100% of UVB rays. A reflective outer coating keeps you up to 8°C cooler than direct sun, and a navy blue underside absorbs scattered UV bouncing up from reflective surfaces like sand and concrete. UV-Blocker was founded by melanoma survivor Ron Walker and is recommended by the Melanoma International Foundation, so every parasol is designed by someone who knows what real sun protection means.

Why a UV Parasol Is Essential Sun Protection
Sunscreen Alone Falls Short
You need to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, and sweat breaks it down faster. The Skin Cancer Foundation reports that most people use only 25-50% of the recommended amount. A UV parasol gives steady UPF 50+ protection that doesn't degrade or wash off.
A Rain Umbrella Isn't Sun Protection
Umbrellas made for rain aren't made for UV, and even dark fabric that hasn't been UPF tested lets a significant amount of radiation through. Our Solarteck® fabric has been independently tested to UPF 50+ and blocks 99% of harmful rays.
Heat Makes UV Damage Worse
In the heat you sweat sunscreen off faster, and your skin becomes more vulnerable. Our reflective outer coating keeps you up to 8°C cooler than direct sun, and about 4°C cooler than standard umbrellas that hold in heat.
Reflected UV Can Still Reach You
Reflective surfaces send UV back up at you: sand reflects 15-25%, concrete 12% and water 10%. Under a standard umbrella that scattered UV bounces around and hits you from below, but our navy blue underside absorbs scattered UV instead.
