The Kayak Umbrella Holder Kit turns the flush-mount rod holder on your kayak into a mount for a UPF 50+ umbrella, with no drilling and no rigging, so you get shade on the water and keep both hands on the paddle or the rod. The kit includes the 157 cm UV-Blocker Golf Umbrella, which blocks 99% of UVA and UVB rays.
What's in the kit
- UV-Blocker Golf Umbrella: 157 cm arc, UPF 50+ canopy
- RAM Press-N-Lock base, which wedges into flush-mount rod holder tubes of 38–48 mm inside diameter
- 30 cm UV-Blocker RAM tube that links the base to the umbrella
- Snug adapters that keep the pole aligned and cut down rattle
Setting up on the water
- Press the Press-N-Lock base into the rod holder until it wedges tight.
- Fit the RAM tube onto the base's ball and set the direction.
- Slide the umbrella in, open it and lock it with the thumbscrew.
Where it works best
The kit is made for calm to moderate water: lakes, estuaries, slow rivers and sheltered bays. It isn't designed for whitewater or rough open-ocean paddling. It suits most sit-on-top and fishing kayaks and small boats with flush-mount rod holders, and some canoes and SUPs, so check your rod holder's inside diameter before you order.
Out on the water, UV also reflects up off the surface, so keep wearing a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen under the shade. The canopy's navy underside helps by absorbing UV that bounces up from below.
Common questions
Do I need to drill holes? No. The base sits in your existing rod holder and comes out when you're done, so nothing on the kayak changes.
Can I use an umbrella I already own? The tube takes UV-Blocker umbrella shafts. If you already have a compatible UV-Blocker umbrella, contact us about the holder-only option.
What if it doesn't fit my kayak? You can return it within 30 days. If you're unsure, email CustomerService@UV-Blocker.com with your kayak model before you order.
