Wind vents. Cooling silver coating. Generous coverage.
Should You Go "Extra Large"?
Why it matters: Plenty of "large" umbrellas are just 107–127 cm (42–50 in). That leaves legs and shoulders exposed to reflected UV rays.
Go for 152 cm (60 in) or more if:
- 🧍 You stand 183 cm (6 ft) or more: Avoid "ankle burn".
- ⛳ You golf: Keep yourself and your clubs covered.
- 👫 You're a couple: Share a single umbrella.
- 👶 You've got a family: Shade yourself plus the stroller.

Reasons to Pick UV-Blocker
Up to 8°C (15°F) Cooler
The Solarteck® silver fabric reflects the heat. Under a black umbrella you bake; under a UV-Blocker you stay cooler.
Stays Right Side Out
Wind passes through the canopy thanks to the Vented Mesh System, which keeps it from inverting.
Medical-Grade Shade
Lab tested to block 100% of UVB, UPF 50+ rated and Melanoma International Foundation approved.

XL UV Umbrella FAQ
Can I pack the 68 Inch Golf umbrella in my luggage?
It won't fit: the 68 Inch Golf is a stick umbrella measuring 109 cm (43 in). For flights, pick the Large Folding UV Umbrella, which is just 53 cm (21 in) long.
Can I use it as a rain umbrella too?
Absolutely. All UV-Blocker umbrellas are 100% waterproof, so one umbrella covers you from spring sun to fall rain, and the lightning-safe fibreglass shaft makes them excellent in thunderstorms.
Can the silver coating wear away?
Solarteck® is bonded into the fabric, not sprayed onto it, so unlike cheaper brands it won't peel or crack.
How is arc different from diameter?
Arc follows the curve over the top; diameter runs straight across. So a 173 cm (68 in) arc works out to about 150 cm (5 ft) of flat, straight-line coverage.
Extra Large UV Umbrellas, 152 cm (60 in) and Up: Your Questions
Why choose an umbrella 152 cm (60 in) or wider for proper UV protection?
Going extra large, at 152 cm (60 in) across, produces a far bigger patch of shade. That helps block direct sunlight and the 30% of UV that reaches skin through lateral scattering. A UV-Blocker umbrella this size covers your whole body and can lower total UV exposure by up to 99% when used properly, giving anyone with sun sensitivity the reliable "safe zone" they need from reflected rays.
How does Solarteck® help these oversized UV umbrellas perform?
Solarteck® relies on a specialized multi-layered fabric that reflects heat while blocking at least 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays. Testing has shown the reflective coating can make it up to 8°C (15°F) cooler under a UV-Blocker canopy than in direct sun. On top of that cooling, the fabric holds a UPF 50+ rating, the top rating available for protective fabrics.
Is the 68 Inch Golf UV umbrella big enough for more than one person?
It is. The 68 Inch Golf UV-Blocker umbrella covers enough ground to shelter two adults from sunlight arriving at an angle. Its large arc allows for the sun's movement, so the high-density Solarteck® fabric keeps a wide protective barrier in place as the angle shifts. The Melanoma International Foundation specifically recommends these models for group and family sun safety.
Can large UV umbrellas stand up to wind without losing sun protection?
Large UV-Blocker umbrellas rely on a double-canopy venting system: high-pressure wind escapes through the vents instead of turning the frame inside out. Rated for gusts up to 56 km/h (35 mph), the design keeps UPF 50+ protection correctly positioned over you. No inversion means steady shade, which is essential if you follow strict clinical sun-avoidance protocols.
