A UPF 50+ Golf Umbrella for Canadian Courses
Most of the Canadian golf season falls between April and September, when the UV Index can reach 3 or higher in the middle of the day, and a round keeps you out in the open for hours. The UV-Blocker Golf Umbrella has a 157 cm arc and a UPF 50+ canopy that blocks 99% of UVA and UVB rays, so you're shaded for the whole round, not just between shots.
The patented Vented Mesh System™ lets wind pass through on exposed holes, you can stay up to 8°C cooler than in direct sun, and it handles a passing shower just as well. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and returns are accepted within 30 days.
Shade for Every Hole, Not Just the Tee Box
The UV-Blocker Golf Umbrella opens to a 157 cm arc and 135 cm of UPF 50+ canopy, enough to keep you and your bag shaded while you walk, wait and line up putts. At 965 g it's light enough to carry for 18 holes, and the 35 mm Pro-Grip handle is easy to hold with a glove on.
Open fairways can be gusty. The Vented Mesh System™ lets wind spill through the canopy instead of catching it, and the silver-and-navy Solarteck® fabric keeps you up to 8°C cooler than standing in the sun. When a shower rolls in, it's a full-size golf umbrella.

How a UV-Blocker Umbrella Shields You

-
A Silver Top That Reflects
Solarteck® fabric on the outside turns back up to 99% of UVA and UVB rays and much of the sun's heat, so it's up to 8°C cooler under the canopy than out in the open.
-
A Navy Lining That Absorbs
UV doesn't only come from above. It bounces off water, sand and pavement, and the dark lining soaks it up instead of reflecting it onto your face.
-
Vents That Breathe
Patented mesh vents between the two canopy layers release warm air and let wind through, which keeps it cooler underneath and steadier in a gust.
Sun Protection Questions From Canadians
Do I really need sun protection in Canada?
Yes. Across Canada, the UV Index can reach 3 or higher between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. from April to September, even on cloudy days, and that's the level where Health Canada advises protecting your skin. Environment and Climate Change Canada publishes a daily UV Index forecast for your city at weather.gc.ca.
Can an umbrella replace sunscreen?
No, use them together. A UPF 50+ umbrella gives steady overhead shade that doesn't wash off or wear thin, but some UV still reaches you by reflection. Health Canada's advice is to combine shade with clothing that covers your skin, a wide-brimmed hat, UV-protective sunglasses and a broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30+ sunscreen.
Is UVA or UVB the bigger problem?
Both. UVB causes most sunburn. UVA goes deeper into the skin, adds to skin aging and skin cancer risk, and gets through cloud and window glass. UV-Blocker fabric is lab tested to AATCC TM183-2020 and blocks 100% of UVB and 99.97% of UVA passing through the canopy.
Does it still help on a cool or hazy day?
Yes. UV isn't heat, so a mild spring day can still bring a high UV Index. That's when people tend to skip protection, and when carried shade is easiest to forget.
What skin changes should I get checked?
Use the ABCDE guide for moles and spots: Asymmetry, Border that's irregular, Colour that varies, Diameter over 6 mm and Evolving (anything changing). Sores that won't heal are also worth showing your doctor or a dermatologist. The Canadian Dermatology Association and the Canadian Cancer Society have more on spotting skin cancer early.
A Simple Summer Routine
- Check the UV Index forecast before you head out.
- Bring your own shade where there's none, such as a sideline, a dock or a parking lot.
- Cover up with clothing, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.
- Use sunscreen on exposed skin: broad-spectrum, water-resistant, SPF 30 or higher, reapplied as the label directs.
- Plan around midday on high-UV days when you can.

What Leading Dermatologists Are Saying…
Hear What Skin Specialists Think About Our UV Protection
-
“It’s not just the Baby Boomers who I have been treating for sun-related skin damage including skin cancer. I have seen an increasing number of younger individuals with varying degrees of UV-related skin problems…problems that are most often preventable. I spend vacation time with my grandchildren on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. The first items we pack are our UV-Blocker Beach Umbrellas. I have been recommending them to my patients for years.”
Dr. Andrea Buck, DO Burlington County Dermatology - Medford NJ
-
“An all-to-common result of exposure to the sun is actinic keratosis. Usually affecting older adults, it can develop on the face, lips, ears, back of hands, forearms, scalp, and neck. The rough, scaly skin patch enlarges slowly and can eventually become cancerous. The UV-Blocker umbrella is one of the most effective defenses against this type of sun damage on the market today. I highly recommend it to patients who spend time outdoors in sunny conditions.”
Dr. Aradhna Saxena, MD Dermatology & Skin Cancer Institute - Ft Washington, PA
-
“My patients routinely ask me about other UV-protective options besides sunscreen and sun avoidance. Now, I have another fantastic option for my patients. Being a UV-Blocker umbrella user myself, this travel umbrella has many purposes besides rain protection. I highly recommend the UV-Blocker umbrella to you and your family for its compactness, ease of use and storage, durability, coolness, and most importantly, its sun protection against skin cancer and premature aging.”
Dr. David A. Kasper, DO Dermatology & Skin Cancer Institute - Lansdale, PA
